The surgery consultation had to be rescheduled for today because I had to redo the MRI on the 24th. MRI found another suspicious area on the right breast and two on the left. They recommended another mammogram and ultrasound-guided biopsy on these areas. Turns out neither the mammogram nor the ultrasound could see those areas so they referred me to get an MRI-guided biopsy. At this point, I’m ready to get a bilateral mastectomy and skip these THREE biopsies.

A consulta com a cirurgiã teve que ser remarcada para hoje por que eu tive que refazer a tomografia dia 24 de março. A tomo encontrou um área no lado direito e duas áreas no lado esquerdo onde eles querem que eu faça uma mamografia e biópsia com ultra-som. Terminou que nem a mamografia nem o ultra-som conseguiram encontrar essas areas e a clínica me mandou fazer as três biópsias com auxílio da tomografia. Deus em livre fazer 3 biópsias! Decidi ir direito pra mastectomia.

After talking to one of the navigators, she decides to schedule a surgery consultation for today since I’m determined to get a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction and get this over with.

The surgeon was amazing. Answered almost every question before I even needed to ask. Stage 2 and slow growing cancer that is nearly impossible to catch on mammogram and/or ultrasound because it only shows once it leaves the the lobules and creates a nodule/tumor that can be felt during the self-exam. If I hadn’t felt it and found it myself, who knows when/if we would’ve been able to find it? So please… go stop reading and go check your boobs now.

A cirurgiã foi maravilhosa e esclareceu todas as minhas duvidas. Falou que é estágio 2 e que cresce muito devagarinho. Também falou que esse cancer é muito difícil de detectar com mamografia e/ou ultra-som. Só com o exame do toque mesmo! Se eu não tivesse encontrado esse nódulo, sabe Deus quando a gente iria encontrar ele né? Então, por favor, pare de ler esse post e faça um exame agora você também.
